we keep the good-times rolling along on the kolour mothership with the debut ep of deep-disco don debonair. we have been taking notes on this guy since we heard his first tune and ever-since, he just seems to move from strength to strength with each tune that is released. needless to say, when the opportunity arose for us to debut his first full-on solo ep, it was the epitome of a no-brainer for us. debonair shows us all facets of his musical capability with a melting pot of music ranging from the traditional debonair deep-disco sound to slo-mo beat-down business, deep-fused funk, with a dash of beautiful baleric sprinkles for good measure.

sex tags mania warehouse find! this might not be one of those popular ware house finds you run into these days, but still, from a storage of a friend of a friend this got dug out. almost brand new but never sold in any amount - a german-french(?) 12 as great as the summer. straight to the b, you know that track you hear, not on any given sunday, but only the exeptionally good ones, the track that sonically floats around, though maybe being to euphoric, still gathers everybody in the area to some sort of silent agreement of peace. usually these musical pieces are found as single items on flee markets if you re a proper digger or have straight out beginners luck. maybe the world has turned up side down, because this beauty has german lyrics (with an instrumental following).

next up on crosstown rebels comes the second outing for british institution matthew bushwacka b under new guise just be. the annabelle release is a rumbling jungle of percussion, from moody and deep to down right stormy, these are high-octane cuts that deserve a cave rave soundsystem.

michael ozone, the character whos just dropped his debut offering for the esp institute this july, is back with a remixed version of his jungle-tuff >perfect systems ep<. on side a, steve summers (a name thats been up in your face over the last year, and one of the key figures in our cousins l.i.e.s. camp) has taken perfect systems for an imperfect ride, jacking it up as expected while keeping the somewhat sinister mood of the original. on the flip, young marco (who has become quite a resident at the esp institute) strips down hetrotopia to its core, letting you realize how a well-programmed track can maintain its melodic and hypnotic sense, even when all thats left is percussion.

sam kdcs follow up to his ground breaking previous symbol 12 inch has arrived, expanding on what he threw down on #3. 3 stunning tracks of elegant melodies and harmonious puddles of sound paint the picture. comes on grey / silver marbled vinyl.

italian based producer roberto clementi. a warm, analogue dub house feeling immediately rolls through his tracks with deep, techno orientated sub bass permeating layers or rich synth work and crisp evolving percussion. having previously released on ny based producer brendon moellers steadfast records, roberto continues down the path to sonic delight with 4 tracks forged in the underground.

nice price deal !!! nice price deal !!! slams rtm project starts with a bang! the pimp convention is packed with the swinging percussion that slam do so well. winding around this rhythm is a hypnotic hook and swaggering vocal sample that adds a delicate touch of uneasy tension, while chest thumping sub bass underpins all. slam are back in the house. the sides collide slows the tempo and darkens the groove. an underlying disco influence can be heard in the track, but is brought back down to the undergrowth by a super heavy bassline and creepy, pitched vocal.

rounding off the ep is ‘hackney’, a 4/4 jackin’ acid stomper, with a sound that is at the forefront of the current uk renaissance in stripped down, in-yer-face techno.

the name of the track is tiefblau and it speaks for itself: you are transported by a pushing, bass-generated pressure capsule down along a hypnotic groove line and into a deep blue ocean. the smalltown collective really exploit the merits of the acoustic stage here, pulling together a compelling and diverse set of notes and tones carefully arranged to amount to a track you just cant shake.
in his interpretation, dj le roi stays true and to the deepest blue dive atmosphere of tiefblau, yet manages to make it completely his own. unmistakably tieflblau, unmistakably le roi.
the page logo belongs to berlin-based producer david keno, whos signature lies in lacing floor-oriented beats with a distinct melodic aspect. with his unique and secret recipe, keno tweaks/ treats this track as he does with so many stomping house tracks with a laid-back vibe. guaranteed to work on any dance floor in the world!

limited to 250 copies !!! on august 4th 2011, the sony music warehouse in enfield, north london was attacked during riots and looting that affected many areas of the capitol over the course of a week. the warehouse burned down completely, taking with it millions of cds and vinyl stored by the distributor pias including the back catalogue of freerange. the blow was devastating for many labels, with the logistics of manufacture and minimal insurance payouts meaning that recreating the entirety of their old stock was completely impossible and many releases have been lost forever as a result.

>the real me< is a collaboration between deeper shades recordings artists salvatore agrosi (coming of the very successful spirit ep) from italy and florida based vocalist dennis baker (featured on the >hypnotize you< releases). the four remixes selected for this 12 inch are ranging from a driving and bass heavy peak time dub by label head lars behrenroth (which btw. has been one of lars secret weapons and created a lot of anticipation for this release) via salvatores stripped down interpretation as his alter ego toto to an emotionally charged atmospheric builder by marco fracasso.

the 2nd in future classics 7inch cover series. cadillacs cover of daft punks >too long< pulls the tempo down, brings out the tropical mallets, brings the same catchy bass lines and crooning vocals that you remember from the original. new navy have stripped out all the electronic elements of the telepopmusik original and replaced with their signature clean bright guitars,island percussion and ben mcinerneys rich vocals.

adriatique is back with their second release on diynamic. again the two talented producers from switzerland created a really impressive ep that seems to fit just perfect for the upcoming summer! the opening track,deeper love, really sets the direction of the whole ep and will make you fall in love with it! a really nice and warm synthesizer combined with that catchy deeper love vocal and a funky picked guitar makes this tune unique. the second track by your side first of all persuades with that coltish sequenzer baseline. after the first break the tune unfolds its whole power. its again the nice combination of a deep, down pitched vocal, funky bended chords and a great synthie line that works just excellent together. a great one for the dancefloor! with motions, the third and title track of the new ep, adriatique deliver another harmonic tune that goes under the skin. its the slowest track on the ep. massive bass tones, groovy shuffled hihats and a deep, repetetive vocal loop result in a wonderful, warm track. the fourth and last track body moving brings the ep to an good end. with a nice vocoder voice the tune gets a touch of the 80s sound. and again a bouncy baseline delivers this special groove and guarantees to shake the floor.

soren jahan is a 23 year old ithaca based producer known as half of b-tracks and a founder member of supply records. on his debut lp as rene audiard he drops seven varied techno tracks. the productions all bear audiards trademark rough texture and stripped down aesthetic. ranging between stark dubs, lo-fi house, upfront kraut-style techno to beautiful ambient soundscapes, this album is a strong entrance for the young artist.

short version: swedish new school electronic disco music. one side with vocals by kicki halmos and a melancholic swing, the other one is slightly man parrish-ish and features viking muscle beats. both tweaked, edited and mixed by a certain terje olsen from another viking country. long version: during a long and cold night in stockholm some moons ago, a mysterious 7? was given to running backs chief a&r. he liked it so much that he wanted to convince the world of its greatness, got more copies, played them back to back, gave it out to djs and producers and there a certain terje olsen decided that he could prolong the all too short 7inch versions into a 12inch. and here we are. original versions released on drifter sthlm by samo forsberg. do some popping, locking & down-dogging!
